So long Sweet Summer

I can hardly believe summer is over. It is my favorite time of the year. (And it isn't because I am not teaching.) I love the sun. I love going on trips. I love sleeping in. I love going running at 9:00am as opposed to 5:00am. I love having time to do projects. I love staying up late with Allen watching movies. I love having time to babysit for kids in our ward. I love going to the ocean. I love going to the river. I love hiking. I love going to the pool. I love going on vacation. It is a great time of year. And now it is over. I have returned to Orem Junior. It seems like I just wrote the blog post about the school year. At the end of the school year I was on this teaching high... but now going back I have to build up all those emotions. The start of the school year is hard because I have to the lay down the law so they think I am a really mean teacher. The students don't know me and I don't know them, so it is hard trying to build that relationship with them. But I think it will all turn out okay. Here are some pictures of our last summer activities.

I finally made a t-shirt quilt. I love it and it is really warm. It is filled with t-shirts from BYU and all my races. A lot of memories in one place.

Before our friends the Mannings moved to Ohio we rented tandem bikes and rode down to Provo Canyon where there is a mini golf course. At first I was a little scared of the tandem, but now I like it better. Going up hill is a lot easier with two people.
For our last summer Activity we went to Park City for one of Allen's Ultimate Tournaments.

I have always heard my students talk about the Alpine slide so we decided to try it out.

The quilt turned out awesome! Way to go! We will be in Utah for Christmas, but we have no idea when or how long yet. What are your guys' plans?
