Well we packed up our little life in Wymount and got the truck all packed on the 23rd of July. We weren't leaving till the 27th, so we lived in our living room on an air mattress and camping chairs for a while.
Home sweet home.
Our last weekend in Provo we ran the Pioneer Day run. Allen got first place in his age division. I got my slowest time in a 5k ever, but I think I might have gotten first place in the pregnant division.
The Provo Temple was basically closed the entire month of June and July, but it opened the day before we left. We already miss having a temple so close.
On the 27th, we said good-bye to our first home. I will miss the people, I will miss the memories, but I do not miss the cinder blocks.
And we were off on our four day journey to our new home. Allen is ready and excited
First stop... Cameo Colorado.
Day 2 we drove through Kansas. This sign almost enticed us to stop.
Day 2 was a lot of this... flat flat and flat
We also celebrated our 3rd Anniversary while driving through Kansas.
Happy Anniversary!
We celebrated our anniversary with our dear dear friends the Last who recently moved to Kansas. It was so fun seeing them.
This is what we saw on Day 3. Not bad!
We stayed the night in Tennessee with the Phillips (my sister) and I don't know why we didn't take any pictures with them. But I am pretty excited that we are only five hours away.
And then on Day 4 we made it. Sweet home Alabama!
We love it here already. We have had a warm welcome from the ward. We have met a lot of people. The humidity is pretty humid, but we are getting used to it... at least I am. I don't know if Allen will ever get used to it. I have see two huge cockroaches. While they gave me nightmares, I am told that I am lucky having only seen two. We are just about moved in. It is looking pretty nice and there are no cinder blocks. Not bad. We are lucky to be here. We even went to my first and Allen's second professional baseball game. It wasn't the Yankees, but at least it is MLB.

Congrats on your first non-cinderblock home. I hope it also has a/c and maybe even a dishwasher. As I said many times right after we moved out of wymount, a/c+dishwasher+washer/dryer=heaven.
But we do miss some things about wymount still.
I'm glad to hear your getting settled! Isn't August in the deep south great?
Just kidding. But if you survive August, you'll LOVE the rest of the year.
Sweet Home Alabama! Michael and I will have to come visit the next time we are in Alabama to see Michael's family. They live outside of Huntsville. You'll get use to how humid it is. I love the change of seasons in Alabama. Birmingham and Atlanta aren't that far away and have really pretty temples.
Glad you guys got there safe! I think you will like the South ;).
How fun for you guys! Glad you made it safe! Cameo! I can't believe you can still run a 5K! You are amazing!
So many thoughts right now.
I'm glad you're there safe! We're just next-door in Mississippi!
awww, you wouldn't want to see the "darn" yankees anyway. go for the red sox.
i love you cameo. you're my hero.
Glad you made it! I got your package the other day, so I'll return those library things. Miss you guys!
Congrats on the baby! You are going to be such a sweet mama. Love the pics of the air mattress - we too are currently on one. We just moved in to Jody's old house yesterday. We are staying here till the end of the year. Thanks for sharing the pics!
That was so funny what you said about being the only one in the pregnant division. Wow you are impressive. If I didn't congratulate you before on the baby CONGRATS! Leaving our first Wymount apartment had all those same emotions, in fact I tend to have them with each move...
Err... "two huge cockroaches" already? I think me and Alabama wouldn't get along. ;) Cam, you're so beautiful with that baby bump! Congrats on the baby, the safe move, the anniversary, and this great adventure you're having! Can't wait to hear more about it.
