I love love love birthdays. I don't necessarily want a big party, but I like the birthday to be special with a lot of family time. Well Allen made sure my birthday was special this year. Since there aren't any classes right now, Allen took the whole day off. I woke up to my favorite food.... french toast. we then drove to Montgomery to go to the zoo. Allen loved all the animals.
Leo especially loved parakeet cove. It is this little caged in area with parkeets flying around. There are little sticks that the birds will eat off of and even hop on to to eat.
We came home and took a nap and then got ready to go do a family 5k. During the summer there is a weekly 5k in the park and the first one was on my birthday. It was the perfect birthday activity for me. We had a great time being together as a family exercising!
We then came home and had cake and ice cream and watched Tangled with Leo. It was the perfect day.
The crazy thing about birthdays is I know I get older, but I never feel older. In fact... I still feel like I am 16. I am the youngest in my family so I am always young... right? Well this Allen's and my last year of our 20s so inspired by my cousins Ashley and Kelly we have started a 30 to 30 list. We haven't come up with 30 items just yet, so if you have any suggestions, we would love to hear them.
