Much of what has happened the last month can be read about in the previous 3 or 4 posts. Since Cameo isn’t too busy currently, she has a bit more time to do extra things like keep the blog updated. So, for more info on some of our activities, just keep scrolling down…
Here's a picture of the latest district of missionaries that just left for Norway that I taught. They were a lot of fun and such great servants of God.
For me, besides normal work, I’ve been playing in an intramural racquetball tournament. I lost my first game but then won a few games and made it to the championship game against the guy I lost to first! I definitely had a better chance than the first time because I was super tired last time I played him (I had just finished playing an ultimate Frisbee game) and I’ve improved A LOT since I started the tournament. Part of that improvement has been due to the glove that Cameo got me…it really makes a difference. Well…it was a close match…but I lost. Both games ended 15-13. I felt I played my best and it was a great game. I am completely satisfied.
The biggest event of July (and a little bit of August) was our trip to San Antonio Texas to visit my dad, stepmom (Suellen) and half sister (Kate). We were there for a week and had such a blast! We enjoyed sleeping in, going to the Alamo (see picture) and just relaxing. We played a lot of games (including boggle) and watched a few good movies.
One of the most exciting things we did was going to Schlitterbahn, “America’s Favorite Water Park,” which is just outside of San Antonio. We were there all day and were able to do only about 75% of the rides and such. We both got a nice tan and had a ton of fun.
I also had the chance to take a few pictures of yet another temple (my 13th). The San Antonio Temple which was built just 3 years ago.
Other activities included going to Sea World four times…that’s right, four times. We had season passes (it was cheaper if we were going to go more than once) and so we would go and spend just a few hours each day. This was really the only way to do it because of the weather. It was about 98 or 99 along with 80% humidity. We couldn’t stand being outside longer than a few hours at a time. Over the four days, we got to do pretty much everything at Sea World without being rushed or having to pay outrageous prices for food so it worked out perfect!
The month of July contained the most significant date of the past year…our one year anniversary! We didn’t do much while we were in San Antonio for it, but it was still significant to us. However, this past week, Cameo led me on a bike riding scavenger hunt going to many of the significant places for us in Provo. We ended up having a candlelit picnic to celebrate our anniversary.
As we’ve thought about the past year, we are so grateful. The Lord is still so good to us. We are more in love than ever before. We have had some small challenges which has made us stronger and closer to one another. We feel so blessed and continue to love being married as we strive to live faithful to the covenants that we have made to each other and to God..JPG)
