First - Auburn Alabama. Auburn requested that Allen make video of himself for his interview which is nice on the finances since we don't have to pay for a plane ticket for Allen to fly out. Allen finished and submitted his video yesterday. What do you know about Alabama? My pros so far - #1 Only 5 hours from my sister in Nashville. THAT IS A REALLY BIG PLUS. #2 It is in the bible belt. My con - hurricanes
Next up - Allen flies out to Kentucky tomorrow and comes back Wednesday. Allen likes Kentucky because of the basketball team. I like it because it is only 3 hours from my sister in Nashville. THAT IS A REALLY BIG PLUS. Thank you to my friend Laura Krebs and her family for letting Allen stay at their house. What do you guys know about Kentucky?
And the last trip for this week is Connecticut. He flies out on Thursday and comes back late Friday night. Thank you to my friend Kaylene and her family for letting Allen stay at their house. What is good and bad about Connecticut? I like Connecticut because of the state song... the one that says all the states in alphabetical order. Connecticut is my favorite part of the song because you sing Connecticut and then there is a cute little piano solo afterwards (even if it is only 3 notes). I am a little worried about the temperatures though. But Allen just informed be that Connecticut is the safest place to avoid natural disaster... not bad!
Any suggestions on the following states would be great. I am really proud of Allen for all his hard work. He is going to be a great graduate student.

You have lots and lots of options it seems!!! Congratulations Allen!!!
Connecticut...Be ready for the coldest, heaviest wettest snow in your life. Under no circumstance should you ever venture to Rhode Island or journey any where near Bridgeport. Hartford and New Haven(Yale campus) is awesome. Let me know if you want to go to get the best and largest Calzone you have ever had. If you do end up there, also be ready for the most beautiful fall season ever! Oh, and Kaylene was there...
I lived in Kentucky for 8 years when I was younger (right next to that red dot at the top right called Ashland) and I absolutely loved it. It was so green & had beautiful trees & hills. Cons: really humid & not very populated, at least the small town I lived in. But I would love to move back to the south sometime if I could. Good luck deciding!
That's awesome you guys! Best of luck and I can't wait to find out where you end up! I'm ruling out Connecticut because the other options are closer to Tennessee!
Michael is from Alabama, about two hours north of Auburn. Alabama is great. It may take you a while to get use to the humid weather but once you get use to that the weather is really, really nice. Not too many hurricanes hit Alabama so I wouldn't worry about that.
As for Kentucky, Michael was born there and lived there until he was 12. You'll love the school atmosphere and Kentucky basketball games. The weather is great as well, not quite as humid as Alabama.
Good luck!
Hi Cam - I love your blog. You have inspired me to do the same. Sounds like fun and exciting adventures are coming your way.
I am so excited for you guys! This is really exciting to have so many possiblities and will be really happy if you guys can be closer to Julee! I know (believe me, I know!) it can be scary to have no idea where you will be, but wherever you go, you will both be amazing! Love you guys! Keep us updated!
I love Connecticut, but I grew up there, so I might be biased. You're close to NYC, but not too close. Close to Boston. Close to the ocean (a little frigid, but it is the Atlantic, so what do you expect?) There are lots of trees. And I love trees. But that's me. Anyway, good luck with everything! I hope everything turns out the way you want :)
Cam. this is Peter. It doesn't matter as long as he is home in time for the game against NM on Saturday. :)
Cameo!
That's so exciting that you have so many fun options to choose from! My dad went to Auburn State for grad school and all I really remember about Alabama were all the trees. So green.
However, I have a secret obsession with New England. I love the history, food, homes, accent, trees of Connecticut.
My brother is in his first year of med school @ Kentucky, and loves it. I went and visited in September and I really liked it. It's way nicer than Cleveland. They have decent weather and everything is so green. I think you should go there, because I could visit you while I'm visiting my brother. It's only a 5.5 hour drive from cleveland.
They all sound like great options to me. My dear friend lives in Kentuky and LOVES it. However, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to live in the New England area and could live vicariously through you if you go there.
Keep us posted!
