Happy Easter

Friday Night I (Cameo) went to the Second Annual Neal A. Maxwell Lecture by Elder Bruce C. Hafen on Campus. (As a side note, while it still seems strange that I live on Campus after graduating, I am grateful for the many opportunities that can come from living near BYU.) Elder Hafen spoke about Scholarship-discipleship and how personal Christian discipleship was the theme of Elder Maxwell's life. He told us that when he went to BYU there was a class called "My religious problems" where in the class they would research a question they might have and then give a presentation and conduct a class discussion. His question had to do with the balance of head and heart, and faith and reason. He talked about the Greek Ideology of reason and individualism and the Hebrew Ideology of faith and authoritarianism. I would urge anyone who is reading this to find the talk online through BYU because whatever I say or write will not do Elder Hafen's magnificent words justice. But after a lifetime of study, he quoted Elder Maxwell, "Keep your citizenship in Jerusalem and get a passport to Greece." At the end of his talk he showed this beautiful picture to describe faith and reason. It is a picture of Peter and John (true disciples) and they are running to the tomb on the first Easter morning. Everything that the "reason" tells them is that Christ will still be in the tomb, yet look at the hope and eagerness in their faces as they rush to meet the Savior. Faith overcomes! Christ is risen and he lives. Let us come unto him with the same eagerness.

Hey Cameo! It's nice to connect with you through the blog-world.

Thanks for that Thai recipe. I can't wait to try it out!

Also, our the instructions that I followed for designing our blog are found on a link at the bottom of the left column on our blog. It is a link to another blog that I found through someone else's blog.....anyways, it is pretty simple to follow step by step, but let me know if have any questions!

The header I created in my digital scrapbook program. I think you can also do things like that if you have Photoshop. Anyways, if you don't have either and want something, I'd be happy to create one for you. Just let me know!
